We provide support and encouragement for learning at home. The school runs regular workshops to build parents’ confidence in aspects of the curriculum, e.g. phonics workshops, parenting issues, and so on. Weekly ‘Stay and Play’ sessions in the ELC Unit include chances to share a book or play alongside children.
The school gives information and advice on the curriculum, in particular when there are changes to current learning and teaching. This may be by sharing documents or workshops after school that all parents and carers are invited to attend.
We work in partnership with parents to ensure homework is appropriate and relevant to the age and stage of pupils,Our ELC runs Teddies in Beddies sessions that encourage shared reading.
